
American actress Elizabeth Chase Olsen was born on February 16, 1989, in Sherman Oaks California. Born in Sherman Oaks, California, Olsen began acting at the age four. She starred in her debut film part in the thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011, for which she was highly acclaimed and was nominated for Critics' Choice Award in addition to other awards. This was followed by a role in the film horror Silent House. Olsen received a nomination from the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2011. She was awarded the award two years later at New York University. Olsen gained worldwide recognition for her portrayal as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe media franchise as she appeared in the films of superheroes Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and the miniseries WandaVision (2021). Her role in WandaVision earned her nominations for an Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.Outside of her involvement with Marvel, Olsen starred in the horror film Godzilla (2014) and the thriller Wind River (2017), and the dramedy Ingrid Goes West (2017). She was director and executive producer of Sorry for Your Loss (2018), getting her a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination for acting as a widow.
